LÂAYOUNE


Lâayoune is located at ten km of the mouth of the Wadi Sakia El Hamra on the Atlantic Ocean. With its strategic position, the town of Lâayoune symbolizes the result of the process of reunification of Morocco.

Lâayoune is a very dynamic city which profited from an economic statute incentive with the investments. The city knew an exceptional growth and the installation of important infrastructures road harbour, airport and industrial.

The sector of tourism remains still virgin in spite of the sublime environment Saharian and a very beautiful littoral.
Lâayoune in it even present a majestic central place from which leave the rectilinear streets length of which are built often capped houses of cupolas conceived in a modern style respecting traditional Saharan architecture.

In the low part of the city the old working, testifies to the Spanish past, with its cathedral and its old Parador.


Lâayoune was in the beginning a large oasis on the wadi sakia El Hamra. The Spaniards who colonized the Sahara Of 1884 to 1975, Fondèrent Layoune in 1932.

It was recovered following imposing Green March and hoisted with the row of regional capital.
